Despite being the final season for Modern Warfare 3, developer Sledgehammer Games has not skimped on content. For fans who crave large-scale updates, this season brings a plethora of new Shipment variants, weapons, and a brand-new 6v6 multiplayer map. With Halloween around the corner, players can also participate in the spooky "Haunted" event, which is now live in both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

If the newly revamped "Haunted" event isn't enough to lure players back to Modern Warfare 3, the free Battle Pass is clearly another incentive. The code can be redeemed in both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

However, not all players are eligible for the free code. Those who have already received the free Battle Pass claim to have randomly received an email from Activision containing the code.

Some players have questioned the eligibility criteria. Reddit user Eymber93, one of the recipients of the free Battle Pass, stated that they "literally" hadn't played Season 5 or Season 4. While the email might seem like a fake spam, the user noted that they redeemed the code on Activision's website and found the Battle Pass the next time they logged into Modern Warfare 3. They speculate that Activision is trying to lure them back into the game since it's been a long time since they last played.

Other players haven't been so lucky. While some have received the free Battle Pass, many in the community are upset as they haven't played the game in a long time and haven't received an email from Activision. One Twitter user even stated that they haven't played since Season 1 but still haven't received a free code from Activision.
