In response to player feedback, Treyarch has reverted the recent Directed Mode change implemented in the January 3rd update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This change, which affected the Citadelle des Morts map, extended the delay between zombie spawns after five looped rounds, frustrating players attempting to farm kills and complete camo challenges. Treyarch acknowledged the community's negative reaction and swiftly reversed the change in a subsequent update released on January 9th.
Players had expressed concerns about potential further detrimental changes to Directed Mode, such as limits to XP gains and rewards. However, Treyarch's prompt response and reversal indicate a commitment to keeping the mode engaging and rewarding. The latest update restores the spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds, addressing the core issue raised by the community.
Beyond addressing the Directed Mode concerns, the January 9th update brings several other improvements. Several fixes were implemented for the Citadelle des Morts map to ensure smooth progression through the main quest. Glitches involving visual effects and crashing issues associated with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have also been resolved.
The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received significant buffs in this update, increasing its overall effectiveness. Both normal and special enemy activation rates have been boosted, along with the elite enemy activation rate when using the Big Game Augment. Additionally, the cooldown rate was reduced by 25%, making the Shadow Rift a more potent and desirable Ammo Mod.
The patch notes also confirmed the launch date for Black Ops 6 Season 2, set for January 28th. A further update will accompany the new season, introducing additional bug fixes and changes. Players are encouraged to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded ends to earn available rewards.
