Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is getting spooky for Season Six, with a Halloween-themed update that includes a terrifying new map and a host of frightening game modes.
All of this is coming before the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25th for consoles and PC. If you're a fan of the Call of Duty series, it looks like Christmas is coming early this year.

According to Activision, the update will be released on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9 AM Pacific Time.

Get ready for a fright, horror fans! Season Six of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is bringing back the terrifying Outbreak event from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This spooky event will run until October 16, 2024.
Other major events themed around horror TV shows and movies are also on the way. The Walking Dead: Final Journey will take place from September 25th to October 2nd, while Trick or Treat: Candy Scavenger Hunt will run from October 2nd to October 16th.
In addition to these events, players can get their hands on new operator skins, including Michael Myers from Halloween, Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, Art the Clown from Terrifier, and demonized versions of Makarov and Valeria inspired by Smile 2, as well as five iterations from Trick 'r Treat.
A brand new multiplayer map is also on the way. Called Drive Thru, it's set in a fast-food restaurant themed around a killer clown, where players can battle it out in 6v6 matches both inside the restaurant and around the parking lot.
Activision has more surprises in store, with six new spooky maps to explore. Mad Cow has been flooded and looks pretty terrifying, while the popular Shipment arena is making a comeback with five different versions, including one that looks like a pixelated retro graphic and another bathed in sunlight, which will make hiding in its narrow corridors a challenge.
The Hordepoint game mode, which first appeared in Call of Duty: WWII in 2017, is also returning in the Season Six update, but with a twist – players will not only have to capture objectives and fend off opposing teams, but also deal with hordes of zombies at the same time.

Arcade and Infected are also joining Hordepoint alongside Mutation, where teams can switch between human and mutant roles and have various abilities.
To better fit the Halloween theme, Zombies mode will get a significant boost. Here, operators will be able to access free Dark Aether Rift Runs, and all chart cooldowns will be doubled.
Player rewards will also be refreshed, and you can expect to earn two new weapons, including a battle rifle and a close-quarters light machine gun.
