Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on October 25th, but before then, early access to the beta will begin on August 30th. Activision has recently revealed some information related to this beta test.
Pre-loading for the beta will begin on August 28th. Activision revealed that the fastest way to get into the beta is by downloading Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Warzone Season 5 "Reloaded" update, which will be released on August 21st. Players who install this update will automatically receive the beta files as a game update.
Players who don't have Call of Duty installed can participate in the beta by downloading Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War from other platforms.
Activision Blizzard has provided detailed estimates of file sizes, as follows:
· PS5: 34GB with Call of Duty installed, 80GB without
· PS4: 15GB with Call of Duty installed, 67GB without
· Xbox Series X|S: 35GB with Call of Duty installed, 75GB without
· Xbox One: 17GB with Call of Duty installed, 52GB without
· Battle.net: 32GB with Call of Duty installed, 74GB without
· Steam: 32GB with Call of Duty installed, 66GB without
· Microsoft Store: 29GB with Call of Duty installed, 66GB without
Ahead of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War release, the Call of Duty app's user interface has been overhauled, as it's no longer a mandatory Warzone download and the file size is smaller. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on October 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC. More details about the game's multiplayer gameplay will be revealed during the Call of Duty: Next event on August 28th.
