With less than a month to go until the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there’s a lot for gamers to be excited about. Between the campaign mode and the core multiplayer experience, plus the return of Zombies mode which is set to be bigger and better than ever before in a Call of Duty title, there’s plenty to look forward to. The developers have started to tease new content, and a recent leak could reveal the new Zombies map coming in Black Ops 6 Season 1.

Call of Duty players only need to wait until the Black Ops 6 release date of October 25th. This will be the first time in the franchise’s history that it launches day one on XGP, and Treyarch has announced some big changes to multiplayer based on feedback from the beta. This includes a new feature added due to “popular demand.” While the main multiplayer experience should be great, we’re most hyped for Zombies this year. The developers revealed that Season 1 would introduce a new map, and the name of this new map may have already been leaked.

Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 1 New Map Leak

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25th, Zombies mode will be playable with two maps: Liberty Falls and Terminus. This is the round-based gameplay where you’ll fight off waves of the undead. Liberty Falls and Terminus will be available at launch, and Treyarch has already announced that a new map will be added in Season 1. This new map hasn’t been given a name, but it will be released before the end of 2024 with Season 1 expected to launch in late November or early December.

While the new map hasn’t been named, leaks suggest that it could be one of the following:

• zm_janus towers
• zm_the keep
• zm_mansion
• zm_digsite

All of the above comes from in-game files that were leaked via Steam during a playtest, as reported by Call of Duty YouTuber MrDalekJD. This leak revealed classic mode and also may have leaked the above as four new round-based Zombies maps coming post-launch. MrDalekJD states that Janus Towers is the main codename leaked, meaning this could be the first new map in Season 1.

What We Know About Janus Towers

As for what Janus Towers could be, there aren’t any clues right now outside of the codename. Project Janus is the focus of the Black Ops 6 Zombies story, picking up after the events of Cold War. The project is headed by Dr. Edward Richtofen and involves gateways to the Dark Aether.

While Janus Towers could be the new map in Season 1, it feels more likely that it would be the final new map of the Zombies “Project Janus” storyline. In this case, Mansion, Digsite, and The Keep feel more likely for Season 1.

Along with a new map, we know that Season 1 will bring back Jingle Hells from Cold War. This will arrive in December, which is a limited-time mode that will bring a Christmas theme to Zombies mode.

The Replacer Returns

In other exciting news, The Replacer, the comedic character portrayed by Peter Stormare, is back for Black Ops 6. Known for his darkly humorous approach to filling in for gamers too busy playing Call of Duty, The Replacer’s latest appearance sees him donning the papal robes as “His Holiness”. This time, he’s blessing (or perhaps, spritzing) those devoted enough to receive his presence.

The Replacer’s return is a welcome dose of humor in the lead-up to Black Ops 6’s release. With a mix of intriguing leaks and confirmed additions, the game is shaping up to be another thrilling entry in the Black Ops saga.
