The highly anticipated Season 1 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is set to deploy on December 5th. Developers Treyarch and Raven Software have unveiled the official patch notes, detailing a range of new content and changes.
Players can expect fresh maps, including a festive Nuketown Holiday variant, the return of Black Ops 4's Hacienda, and the all-new Racket map for 6v6 and 2v2 combat. New modes are also on the way, headlined by the CODMAS event spanning Warzone, Zombies, and multiplayer.
For those yet to experience this year's Call of Duty, Activision is offering a free Black Ops 6 trial week from December 13th to 20th. Players on all platforms can access multiplayer and Zombies modes, with a selection of maps including Racket, Hacienda, Nuketown Holiday, Extraction, Hideout, and Heirloom. However, the campaign mode will remain unavailable during the trial.
While the update promises substantial content, it's not without controversy. A new BlackCell loyalty bonus, granting a 10% XP boost per season for BlackCell Battle Pass purchasers, has drawn criticism from players. This cumulative boost, reaching 50% by Season 6, has been labeled "disgusting" and "disrespectful" by some, raising concerns about pay-to-win mechanics.
The Season 1 Reloaded patch notes also confirm that weapon balancing adjustments are not included in this initial update. However, a separate patch focused solely on weapon buffs and nerfs will follow shortly after.
The patch notes provide a comprehensive overview of changes coming to Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. Key updates include new camos, sensitivity adjustments, the addition of the Racket, Hacienda, and Nuketown Holiday maps in multiplayer, and various gameplay updates for Zombies. Warzone sees improvements to bug fixes, quality of life, server performance, and the return of Ranked Play.
Within Warzone’s Ranked Play, various restrictions on weapons, attachments, and equipment are in place to ensure a competitive balance. The ranking system has been streamlined to focus on skill, with eight ranks progressing from Bronze to Iridescent, and a Top 250 leaderboard. A new elimination rank delta system rewards players more for defeating higher-ranked opponents. Deployment fees and a range of rewards, including operator skins, emblems, and calling cards, are also detailed in the patch notes.
Warzone also introduces new perks, killstreaks, weapons, and attachments. Bug fixes addressing issues with perks, field upgrades, camos, the firing range, Gulag, and other aspects of the game are also included.
